|Title:||Goddess of the Earth|
|Family:|| Persephone (daughter) †|
Diana first appears at the start of the Goddess Test. She is seen to be encouraging Henry to give another girl a chance. A chance for immortality and a chance to save Henry from fading away. She next appears as Kate's mother, suffering from terminal cancer. She is settling into Eden with Kate, prepared to die. Once Kate goes to live with Henry though, Diana is mentioned only at infrequent times, usually in the form of Kate's dreams. Throughout the novel, Diana and Kate converse through these dreams, Kate not knowing that her mother is the Goddess of Agriculture and Growth. When Kate gets fatally stabbed by Calliope, Diana gives up her frail human life to save Kate. Instead of Kate's life being taken, it is Diana's human life that gets taken by Henry. This is not the last that Diana appears in this book, though. Diana makes her entrance at the end of the book, when she reveals to Kate that she is a goddess, by being part of the council to decide if Kate has passed all the tests set before her.
